(The Camp is remote enough that your phone and mapping app will not have service, and while these services are getting better, they may route you out of your way and deposit you miles away.  It's best to take a printout of the directions below.)

Driving Directions

From Sacramento

  • Take I 80 through Sacramento toward Reno until you reach Truckee

From Reno

  • Take I-80 West until you reach Truckee

From Truckee

  • Take Hwy 89 NORTH (Exit 188b) toward Sierraville (From Sacramento, this is the second Hwy 89 exit; the first Hwy 89 exit is south toward Lake Tahoe.)
  • Follow Hwy 89 for 22.3 miles into Sierraville (The road comes to a “T” intersection in Sierraville. GO LEFT. At this point, the Hwy is both 89 and 49.)
  • Continue to follow Hwy 89/49 for 4 miles into Sattley. Just past Sattley is the Hwy 49/89 junction. (Continue straight; do not turn onto Hwy 89.) Continue on Hwy 49 toward Bassetts Station/Sierra City. (Though our mailing address is in Sattley, the camp is approximately 13 miles away.)
  • Hwy 49 will climb to the top of the Yuba Pass. When you see the summit sign, look at your odometer. Proceed 2.3 miles down Hwy 49 from the Yuba Pass summit.
  • You will see a sign on the right hand side of the road for the Clark Station Summer Tract Homes. The camp turn off is 300 feet past this sign, on the left. The road is not marked. (Cal Trans has prohibited any signs.) The camp entrance is approximately 300 feet down this road, across a bridge, and on the right. (If you reach Bassetts Station, you’ve gone 4.4 miles too far.)

From Susanville

  • Take Highway 395 south to Highway 70.
  • Take Highway 70 and proceed 18 miles to Road A23.
  • Turn left (south) on Road A23 and proceed about 10 miles to Highway 49/89 (which are one and the same road at this point).
  • Turn right (east). Continue straight and proceed on Highway 49; do not turn right to follow Highway 89. Continue on Hwy 49 toward Bassetts Station/Sierra City. (Though our mailing address is in Sattley, the camp is approximately 13 miles away.)

From Chico, Redding, and Other Points North

  • Connect with Highway 70 and take it south to Highway 89.
  • Proceed south on Highway 89 to Graeagle.
  • Just south of Graeagle, take the Gold Lake Highway through the Lakes Basin Recreation Area to Bassetts Station, which is at the intersection of Gold Lake Highway and Highway 49.
  • Turn left (east) and proceed up the hill 4.4 miles.
  • You will see a pull out on the right hand side of the road and a very small Highway 49 sign. The road is not marked.

Taking Highway 49 Eeast

  • If you take the scenic Highway 49 East, through Nevada City and Downieville, you’ll pass through some of the prettiest area we’ve seen. The Camp is approximately 29 miles east of Downieville. Once you arrive in Bassetts Station (about 24 miles from Downieville), the Camp is another 4.4 miles east.
  • You will see a pull out on the right hand side of the road and a very small Highway 49 sign. The road is not marked. (Cal Trans has prohibited any signs.)
  • The camp entrance is approximately 300 feet down this road, across a bridge, and on the right.
  • (If you reach the Yuba Pass summit, you’ve gone 2.3 miles too far!)

If your plans change, you can get a refund before May 1st less a cancellation fee. And if you enroll after May 1st, you may still cancel and receive a refund if you notify the Camp within 7 days of your enrollment, or the start of camp for your child, whichever comes first, less a cancellation fee.  (See our Refund Policy.)
