Summer Camp Activities: Archery & Target Sports

Archery is one of the Camp's most popular programs. You'll not only get to shoot, but you'll learn a little about the history of archery as well as the safety rules and commands for the sport. You'll also learn how to string a recurve bow, notch and draw arrows, and stand, aim, and fire. 

In addition to archery, we also offer hatchet throwing! That's right, kids get to throw a hatchet and see if they can hit the bullseye on a target painted on a wooden round. You'll learn one and two-handed throwing techniques. We operate using essentially the same safety rules as archery, though modified a little for hatches.

Lastly, we offer slingshots for some good, 'ole-fashioned plinking. What's more fun than knocking a tin can off a post?! Once again, we use very similar safety routines for this sport.

All the target sports are supervised by a certified specialist.
