Facilities & Maintenance Jobs

Shaffer's High Sierra Camp offers children 8 to 17 an overnight summer camp experience but with a focus on noncompetitive wilderness adventure activities in California's splendid Tahoe National Forest. (Go to our Home page to read more.)

Each year, the Camp needs a facilities engineer and a custodian. Primary duties include grounds and facilities maintenance, repair and cleaning. (Go to our facilities page to read more about the Camp facilities.)

We are accepting applications for both positions.

Your start date will depend on when the snow melts and your end date will depend on outstanding projects. As a rough approximation, that will translate to work from mid June to mid August.

The salary is negotiable, depending upon skill and experience. Room and board are a benefit.

We look for people who are mature, responsible, able to operate on their own initiative, have a strong work ethic, and can drive. The following skills are desirable but not essential: basic plumbing skills, carpentry skills, painting experience, pool maintenance experience, chain saw experience, and small engine maintenance/repair experience.
